There are 3 styles available with various weight options. We recommend buying the short 45lbs vest. You can always buy an attachment later if you need to add more weight. There is also a perspiration liner available separately.
This is a really comfortable vest allowing a full range of motion without any discomfort.
The padded shoulder straps are available with a narrow option if you are slight but are still wide enough to spread the weight comfortably. The wider shoulder straps still allow a free range of motion. The attachment straps are 2″ wide so there’s absolutely no wriggling or pinching.
The cost will be prohibitive for some but this is a one-time investment and with the lifetime warranty we think this well worth the money.

The MiR Weighted Vest includes individual weight pouches that allows one to adjust the weight quite easily. The vests have changing weight capacities ranging from 10 lbs for the beginner up to 200 lbs for the really strong among you. The soap bar sized weights are not difficult to slide in and from the pouches, which are located on the front and back of the weighted vest.
The lower and upper positioning of the pockets allows for easier breathing. The sides of the vest are open to help keep you cool.
The vest fits comfortably and doesn’t restrict the movement of the arms or abdomen. The vest moves with you instead of against you.
The shoulders of the vest are double padded and each vest also has multiple straps placed mid-chest, that prevent slippage and bounce during exercise.
Setting up the vest can be a bit difficult as ours did not come with instructions so we had to figure out how to attach the straps. Luckily we found a video on youtube explaining how this is done.

This comes in a one size fits all style so it will not be suitable for everyone. It is well constructed from a strong, nylon fabric and feels very sturdy. The stitches and seams are almost invisible.
It fit our test subject nice and tight although if you of a smaller frame we don’t think this will fit particularly well.
The weights are sandbags which are not as easy to install and remove as the iron bar alternatives out there.
The vest is slightly longer than some alternatives and the bottom of it tends to sit around the top of your stomach.
All in all, we like this weight vest. It is a fantastic price but with some minor limitations.
Best Weighted vest for women: MIR® Women’s Adjustable Weighted Vest
We love this vest specifically made for women. It features an X shape design with cutouts where your breasts are. This makes it much more comfortable than a regular weight vest for larger breasted women. The weight is designed to sit between the breasts avoiding squashing them.
The vest holds a maximum of 30 lbs in weight which cannot be increased at a later date. These weights are removable and are solid rather than sand which we prefer.
The vest has open sides to help with ventilation and is secured around the waist with a velcro strap. The strap does not necessarily provide the greatest of fits and if you have a naval piercing we think that this could chafe.
The overall size of this vest may be an issue for some. We noticed that the shoulder straps were quite wide and could limit your range of movement if you had narrow shoulders.

The CAP Barbell weighted vest is a well-priced weight vest, made of sturdy construction and available in weights ranging from 20 lbs to 80 lbs.
It has plenty of pockets for the weights which are the iron bar type and not the more clumsy sandbag type. The weights are distributed nicely and the load is spread evenly around your body. Each weight weighs 2.5 lbs.
The vest has one Velcro strap to secure it around your waist and we found that although usable it would have been better if it had a second strap to secure the vest more snugly against our torso.
The 80 lb vest is quite long so you would need to be of above average height for it to fit comfortably. On the flip side if you are a giant of a man then this vest is not for you as we found the adjustability limited and think it would be too snug a fit.
We would recommend getting the largest weight vest as you cannot add more weight to the lower weighted vests.
The Valeo WV40 weight vest is a well made, breathable vest that fits well and is available at a good price.
This vest only comes in the one size and although advertised as one size fits all it is actually a little on the long size. The vest seemed to slip off at times. Because of this, we suggest buying this vest only if you are of a taller frame.
This vest has a number of pockets around the chest and torso to distribute the weight evenly while you work out. The weights are lead shot in bags that can be a little tricky to remove and replace but once we got the hang of it we found them fine.
The vest is only available in a 40 lb version which is o.k for most exercises you would want to use it for.
The shoulder padding is strengthened to prevent excess pull or pinching on your own neck and shoulders. It comes in one size that ought to fit most folks.
The HumanX weighted vest made by harbinger makes our list for its good construction and fit although we are disappointed with the limited weight options.
There are 3 different weight sizes available, 10 lbs, 20 lbs and 40 lbs. Each vest contains 20 individual weights. The 10 lb vest has weight increments of 0.5 lbs, the 20 lb vest has increments of 1 lb and the 40 lbs vest has increments of 2 lbs.
The weights are comprised of sandbags inside plastic containers which are a great way of dealing with the use of sand. The plastic containers make the weights very easy to insert and remove.
The vest is marketed as one size fits all and is very well constructed. There is a large velcro belt that tightens around the waist and keeps it secure. You can tighten this vest right up so it fits nice and snug against your body meaning you could use this vest to run in.
It has double padding on the shoulders and chest which is a nice bonus and means it is very comfortable to wear. The vest has been cut with a nice shape so that you get a full range of motion. It sits high enough that squats are not a problem and the shoulders are free to move in all directions.
It is not machine washable but you are able to hand wash this without causing any problems.
Overall a nice vest but with limited upgrade and size options.

The manufacturer markets this product as “One size fits most” and this is true. We found it not suitable if you are either small in height or of a very petite frame. Also, we found the shoulder to be relatively narrow and therefore if you are broad shouldered this is probably not suitable for you.
The weight is not removable and is only available in one option – 12 lbs. This is suitable for small resistance work but not if you have larger strength goals in mind.
The design is made primarily for women. Most of the weight is on the back as the front is cut out so no pressure is applied onto the breast. The front is secured by a plastic buckle that sits just above your sternum.
The neoprene material is soft and contains some reflective strips for if you are running at night. There is also a pocket to keep your cellphone or mp3 player while you workout.
